They’ve been successfully conditioned to such anemic political prospects that they reflexively try to make up for the lack of results by consuming “their” political pocess as character drama, in order to at least get entertainment out of it.
once you understand that their “left” stands for “to the left of fascism” it all makes sense.
More like “to the left of open fascism”. They’re still pretty happily helping create the material conditions guaranteed to lead to fascism, they just pretend to fight against it when the cameras are on.
