    I never did understand why they always try to bring stand-ups in these events. Most people don’t care for them and they often make the mood awkward, can we just skip to the awards?

      Typically comedians are the only thing worth watching in an award show like that. Otherwise it’s just a procession of thank you speaches. You need something to break that up, IMHO.

        You’re also hiring a writer/performer. If you’re hiring a comedian then you don’t have to write every single line, and hopefully you’re getting someone who can improve a little if things are running on time.

      I think it’s a feedback loop. Everyone else is doing it, so we have to too! Even if it does make everything worse.

      Celebrities are also the worst people on the planet in terms of taking a joke. Obviously we saw the worst case with Will Smith, but they always pan out to the audience and celebrities never know how to just chuckle and move on
