Are you 100% lemmy/mbin/piefed for your forum/thread life or are you still using reddit for something?
There is occasionally a comment that turns up in the search engines that is absolutely project-saving. Lemmy is not at that point yet.
Using redlib to lurk on a handful of niche subs. Mostly as inspiration for my hobbies. Chief among them was r/thinkpad, but I’ve since weaned off them as they seem to be developing a phobia or even contempt for my favorite old ThinkPads. Yes, they’re over a decade old and not for everyone, but that doesn’t mean they belong in the e-waste pile. Or maybe they do so I can come pick them up.
It’s also still home to many helpful support threads and tutorials, unfortunately.
Korn, Lemmy still not diverse enough for that
I read the local sub but no posting. There’s also one or two nsfw subs i still check for updates but also no posting
i only use it for some videos at this point
I really enjoy lemmy much more, reading comments here and stuff, i feel much better since i started using lemmy instead of reddit. and like i did not even comment on reddit for years but i started doing that again here because it feels okay doing
Only Corn
I don’t use it at all directly, but occasionally an answer generated on Reddit will pop up on a search I’m doing on a different site
If a search links to it, it will be years old and might have some information but I immediately see the reason I don’t use it anymore with ads/suggested subs. And sometimes porn.
OK last one’s a feature not a bug.
Close to nothing, at this point. Sometimes I search for answers to technical questions and find them on Reddit, but that’s about it.
I’m afraid I’m still on reddit quite a bit. Most communities have a lot more activity there. Rust, nixos, luthiery, local and state level subreddits. r/fiddle, and other instrument subreddits have more activity.
That said theres a lot of chaff that I wouldn’t miss. r/sysadmins is all removed about corporate work, r/machinists the same but blue collar. r/hiking is all shoe posts and gear. Political subreddits have lots of activity but its 90% rage farming.
Technical communities are strong on lemmy, despite their smaller size. And its refreshing to read the super far left diatribes, I don’t get that stuff elsewhere.
Deleted my account, so nothing.
LOL, username checks out. My maan
Mostly for reminding myself why I no longer use reddit.
Also occasional tech support issues via DuckDuckGo searches
Not much. There are some tech communities that I still monitor there to keep up with the general public. and then i check my local city subreddit sometimes.
But mostly use rss, and then lurk lemmy.
Making fun of it, mostly.
