The USA should be stripped of all positions held in the UN (especially that fucking stupid permanent Security Counsel shit). Our leaders want to talk at all times about “dictators” but having permanent status at a body like that is basically dictatorship. Able to override basically everyone and just force the world to do what we say. The world needs to stop every amount of enabling done to keep the USA happy. We can’t continue to be allowed to act like we are special and are THE savior of the world. We claim to want law and order, but then make just daily life it impossible for people on international courts that rule against us or our fascist terrorist states.
I hope that the whole of Central and South America come together. Even if they don’t all flip to socialism/communism, they can only hope to be safe against the USA if all nations unite. Also hope that they can get a fuck-ton of hypersonic aircraft carrier destroying missiles from China and Russia to be ready for future attacks in their waters. Because this will most certainly not be the only time such an open and direct action will happen. Mexico, Cuba, and Brazil are the most likely in my opinion based on the right-wing news already bringing up other “dictators” that they would like to see taken/killed.
I also hope that all the politicians in the USA understand what levels of “okay” this sets. If the we are able to just kidnap heads of state, then it sets the example that it is okay to take ours. Just because it might be harder doesn’t mean it can’t happen. All of them loved to support the shit I saw in high-school with Afghanistan and Iraq over blowback of our own actions and false flag justifications. The right needs to have their new Red Scare/Cold War/9-11 to gain, keep, and hold their powers. And the centrists don’t want to ever take a fucking side while being pulled towards the fascists.
I know the SC seat was important for the USSR for vetoing a lot of bad resolutions, but the entire “permanent seat” thing is stupid. Especially considering that nowadays Britain and France can barely influence anything out of its own backyard. Britain especially. Why isn’t Japan given a permanent SC seat? Why not Iran or Turkiye or Egypt or any other African or Middle Eastern country? Shouldn’t South American interests also be accounted for? Why not give Brazil one? The entire system at that level is completely bygon, and there really needs some way to prevent one country from vetoing every resolution
