I need to map network shares from my Synology NAS and also from a Win11 Pro desktop. There are just so many variations on how to do this. All I need to do is map drive letters to shares on startup so they are always available.

I’m honestly confused as to why everyone here is avoiding actually answering your question. Anyway, for most modern file browsers in Linux:
- Type into the address bar: smb://ip-address-or-domain/share-name
- It should ask for login credentials. Enter your login for the server you’re accessing. Click “remember forever” or something like that.
- Once you’re in, right-click the share in the navigation pane to the left and click “create bookmark” or something like that. When doing so, there may also be a checkbox to make it persistent - if so, check it.

Not super familiar with Synology anymore but you need to create a samba/smb share as well as a user to mount with. For windows it will be straight forward and like any other share… For Ubuntu you’d need to look into how to mount a smb share into Ubuntu. I can try to find a guide that explains it well or you can do it yourself as well if you’d like
