🇺🇸🇮🇱 US House Passes Bill to Strip Federal Funding from Universities That Boycott Israel

    Expand

The House of Representatives has passed the “Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act of 2026” in a 237-169 vote, sending the bill to the Senate. The legislation, led by Republican Virginia Foxx alongside Democrat Josh Gottheimer, strips federal funding from any school found to carry out a “nonexpressive commercial boycott” of Israel — a provision that also covers boycotts of institutions based in Israel’s illegal settlements.

Notably, this isn’t a purely partisan crackdown — over 30 Democrats crossed the aisle to vote for the measure, underlining how deep pro-Israel lobbying runs in both parties, even as roughly 80% of Democratic voters and Democratic-leaning independents now hold negative views of Israel amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The bill effectively demands that universities not only refuse to boycott Israel but actively seek cooperation with it, treating any support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement or Palestinian rights as grounds for punishment.

Unsurprisingly, AIPAC publicly celebrated the vote.

The bill still needs Senate approval to become law, expected when the chamber reconvenes on September 14.

—❗️🇮🇱/🇱🇧/🇮🇷 BREAKING: The IDF announces it captured and cleared the Hezbollah underground complex at Ali Al-Taher hill, southern Nabatieh

The IDF made more than 10 failed attempts to capture the strategic Hezbollah stronghold throughout the past few months.

      — In my opinion, the psychological operation carried out by Israel the past two days is very clear:

      1. Falsely have Hebrew media outlets claim that Iran has threatened an attack against Israel if Ali Taher Hill is captured.

      2. IDF suddenly announces the capture of Ali Taher Hill shortly after.

      3. Paint a strong and defiant image of the IDF, that captured the hill ‘despite Iran’s threats’.

      4. Make Iran look weak by emphasizing the lack of a military response (which was never officially threatened).

The IDF entered the Ali Taher complex more than a week ago. Amit Segal, an Israeli military journalist, even leaked the images but was forced to delete them by the military censorship.

Yesterday, the IDF fully cleared the compound for the first time. Hebrew media outlets already knew this but weren’t allowed to report on it.

So they published a fake report this morning that ‘Iran said it will attack Israel’ if Ali Taher Hill is captured, while fully knowing it was already captured.

Why? To make Iran look weak, very simply. A way to boost Netanyahu’s poll numbers ahead of the election.

This doesn’t mean that the capture of Ali Taher isn’t a strategic loss. It most certainly is. However, the narrative that Iran promised to retaliate is simply fake.

      — 🇮🇱/🇱🇧 NOTE: Claims that IRGC commanders were present at the underground complex, or that Iran had threatened Israel with war in case it captured Ali Al-Taher hill, are all false

Ras Zimmt, former senior IDF commander & current Director of Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) says the following:

‘There is no indication of the presence of ‘dozens of IRGC members’, let alone two senior Iranian officers, in Ali al-Taher hill.

Israel itself, which in fact has an interest in demonstrating Iranian involvement in Hezbollah’s fighting, has denied that Iranian fighters are present.

There has also been no unusual statement by senior Iranian officials indicating an intention to respond to Israeli activity in Ali al-Taher.’

        — 🇱🇧/🇮🇷/🇮🇱 Times of Israel military journalist, Emanuel Fabian:

‘The Reuters report earlier that Iran warned the US that it would respond to any Israeli offensive on Ali Taher, is 100% bullshit.

The IDF has been inside tunnels for weeks.’

❗️Saudi oil exports hit lowest level in at least 9 years

    Expand

Saudi Arabia’s crude exports fell last month to their lowest level in at least nine years, as attacks on tankers intensified amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

Tanker-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg, Vortexa and Kpler showed that Saudi oil exports averaged around 3 million barrels per day in August, the lowest level in records dating back to early 2017. The figure is consistent with estimates from crude traders and a person familiar with Saudi oil operations.

This week, two more tankers carrying Saudi crude were struck by projectiles in the strait. One of the vessels belonged to Saudi shipping company Bahri, which reported that two crew members were killed.

The attacks have made some Saudi customers increasingly hesitant to use the kingdom’s Red Sea ports, forcing Riyadh to consider alternative routes around Africa. Such voyages add thousands of kilometers to shipping routes and further disrupt global supply chains.

Tracking data showed exports through the western port of Yanbu rose to around 4.3 million barrels per day (bpd) in June, from approximately 770,000 bpd in January. Yanbu exports then declined to about 3.7 million bpd in July after Ansarallah announced a blockade on Saudi shipping, before falling further to roughly 2.25 million bpd in August. Meanwhile, shipments through the Persian Gulf, which had recovered slightly to around 800,000 bpd in July, declined again the following month.

🇮🇷❌️🇺🇸🇯🇴 Iran struck the runway of Prince Hassan Air Base, Jordan on September 1st.

A set of low-resolution satelite imagery from China & Sentinel-2 reveal that Iran struck the runway on Sept. 1st, but it was quickly repaired and painted over.

The scarring is still visible on Sept. 3rd.

❗️Hamas delegation holds talks with senior Iranian officials on Gaza, ceasefire roadmap

    Expand

According to a Hamas statement, a senior delegation led by Bassem Naim visited Iran and held talks with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the latest developments in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem.

The delegation briefed Iranian officials on what it described as ongoing Israeli attacks despite the October 2025 ceasefire agreement, conditions in Israeli prisons, and efforts to implement the second phase of the ceasefire roadmap, stressing that Hamas remains committed to the agreement and that Israel has refused to fulfill its obligations.

It also called for international pressure to secure its implementation, humanitarian relief, reconstruction, and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

The statement said the discussions also focused on broader challenges facing the Palestinian cause and ways to strengthen support for Palestinian rights.

Iranian officials reaffirmed Tehran’s continued political and material support for the Palestinian people, briefed the Hamas delegation on the latest developments in the confrontation with the United States, and reiterated Iran’s commitment to implementing the agreed roadmap to end the war.

Hamas expressed appreciation for Iran’s support and emphasized the importance of continued consultation and coordination amid rapidly evolving regional developments.

    — 🇺🇸/🇮🇷 President Trump once again crashes out against Iran on Truth Social:

‘For the treasonous SCUM that refuses to accurately report on our Military Operation in Iran, we have virtually unlimited amounts of Mid to High Grade Ammunition, far more than we could ever use for this, or for any other War (which is highly unlikely!), that could improbably take place.

In addition, we are producing Munitions at levels never seen before. We are stockpiling and preparing for any contingency that could happen. We are taking them for ourselves, the U.S.A., rather than selling them to others, but the sales to Allies will soon again, begin.

Also, please let it be known, that the Biden Administration gave far more Munitions away to Ukraine, at no cost to them, whatsoever, than we have used in Iran. Hundreds of Billions of Dollars was given to Ukraine and NATO, free of charge, that Europe would have paid for - If they were only asked, but we will be asking for that money, though somewhat belatedly! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP’

❗️Xi urges West Asia & North Africa to reject external interference, reshape security order

    Expand

Chinese President Xi Jinping urged West Asian and North African countries on Wednesday to reject outside interference and consider restructuring the region’s security framework during his visit to Egypt.

During the visit, Xi said regional countries should be “masters of their own destiny” and consider developing a new regional “security architecture”, according to China’s state news agency Xinhua.

Xi also said China was prepared to cooperate with countries in the region to protect shipping routes.

Xi and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi agreed to strengthen security cooperation and coordination on counterterrorism, Xinhua reported.

Under a joint statement, China and Egypt also agreed to broaden cooperation in data centers, semiconductors and critical minerals supply chains, while promoting greater use of each other’s currencies in trade and investment.
