Mine hated magpies. First time we took him to my mothers house I heard some miaus smd found him on a rock in the middle of a little brook next to the house being mobbed by three magpies. And I had to rescue him. A little while later I saw the setup. One magpie was limping along being tracked by the cat. The second the cat jumped in the rock the other two immediately started mobbing him and the “wounded” would join in.

After that magpies were an arch enemy. A few years later I sat on my own porch, and this magpie was hopping around for probably 20-30 minutes when suddenly my fur missile came out if a bush next to the porch. He had bided his time and actually got both his paws all around the magpie who started pecking his head. Think he was as surprised as the magpie as he actually let it go. (To my relief as I think he would have lost an eye)

I saw that the magpies had learned and was more wary when they spotted him.

I have read voraciously all my life. Audiobooks ruined it somewhat, but with a 2 year old I have been adamant that he sees dad with a book, not a phone or e-reader.

I have tried the classics numerous times, but I find them mind numbingly boring. Homer, Tolstoy, Ibsen are so dreary. Better some good fantasy by Pratchett or Gaiman. Found the Slow Horses series to be enjoyable. If you want more classic action perhaps the Musceteer-books by Duma or Sherlock Holmes by Doyle. Norwegian here. I quit reddit and joined Lemmy after the API debacle. Installed mint because of W11. (A big factor was how Steam and proton enables me to play games)

Can’t say either Lemmy or Linux has gotten any media attention in the big news sources as far as I can see.

I am the only one in my circle of friends that quit Reddit (most follow the various 40k reddits, and they have no replacement in federated options)

• Massive market thats the only reason we care about India
• Good tech industry (moon landing?)
• Don’t go to Kashmir
• Holi
• Bollywood
• “Indian” food (know that some protein in some sauce with nan and rice is not all an entire subcontinent can offer)

Last show I saw about India was that James May show on Amazon

Multiplay.co.uk stopped offering servers, and Discord was all new, bright and shiny so we switched to Disc. Was sad to see it go tbh
