  • Brother, we have all of those ingredients everywhere. We have a little British store run by expats who could get whatever packaged crumpet you use. Shit, I can make a batch of crumpets in about 15 minutes.

It’s not like a crazy recipe that needs balanced flavors to be done right. Like I’ve never had a good poutine outside of Quebec. It’s always sad beige gravy with the wrong seasonings or mozzarella or frozen fries or all of the above. It is never right.

What we can also talk about is local places making local dishes but they do it wrong and cheap or “good enough” and people come from abroad and try the dishes and think they’re mid because they went to the wrong place.

    TL;DR: I love poutine.

I grew up on a farm, I’ve killed and slaughtered my own food my whole life and I always felt good about eating meat because of that fact.

As I get older I’m really starting to hate killing things, I don’t want to end a life at all. My couple of vegetarian days might turn into a whole lifestyle.

  • Cuba repossessed land that foreigners in the US (Florida) were making money off of so they could support their own people. The dispossessed Americans turned this into a voting issue and have had the US leadership by the balls over it since. Other countries in the region who want to suck up to the US uphold the embargo on their end as well. This keeps Cuba in a constant state of extreme poverty. It’s violence.

  • I think at this point I only ever go to fast food places when a friend who loves fast food places is over and we happen to go get food. Happens maybe once every couple of years.

I think I’m at an age that if I want burgers or barbecue or something unhealthy or greasy is rather make it myself and have it be extra dirty and less expensive.

  • Great descriptions! Lately I’ve been working on the (pardon me, I couldn’t find a use for them) distal interphalangeal knuckles, just hanging from my finger tips. Pretty much all the good climbers at my gym can do that with weight added on a belt so I’ve still got a long way to go. But yeah I used to lift pretty heavy and this was pretty much impossible before I started practicing, just seem like totally different parts of the body although they’re all in the hand.
