Well this article is less than worthless. Where is the list of those IP addresses? I’d be happy to implement blocks on my servers with that information.
A person with way too many hobbies, but I still continue to learn new things.

Since I’m 57 and have paid some attention to how I’ve changed over the years, perhaps I can add a little insight? Quite frankly, you get tired. I’ve been on the scene since the home computer revolution took off and I’ve seen so many things come and go. It’s not that we can’t learn new forms of communication, etc., but rather that after awhile you start asking yourself why bother when the “next big thing” is going to be another forgotten memory in 5-10 years. It’s not you who are being criticized for wasting items, it’s all the people like you over the years who have collectively wasted so much. Our brains remember all those things and they add up, causing us to fixate on the wrong info (although this last bit isn’t really something that comes with age).
Last night I re-watched The Fifth Element. Afterwards I was thinking about when it first came out in 1997. My god, that’s 28 years ago. I remember things from the 90’s. I remember things from the 80’s and from the 70’s. I remember that after 9/11 the 00’s were boring as fuck. But when you put all of that together, and start thinking about how much you’ve experience… holy hell that’s quite a lot to face squarely. And if I tell you something inappropriate about a co-worker… what? HR will pull me away from the monotony and have a talk with me? Experience tells us what we can get away with, and sometimes it’s fun just to see what people’s reactions are.
So yeah, I’ve observed these things, but I refuse to be pulled down into misery and monotony. Keep yourself busy doing things that you enjoy. Never be afraid to go down the rabbit hole and learn crazy new things. I’m working on assembling a couple swords from parts, looking into bluing some steel pieces I made. And just this week I learned about “rust bluing” which is a crazy concept but is easy to do at home. I learned something new and fun, and I refuse to ever stop learning. I may not care about Instagram or Facebook, but I installed Signal on my phone and I love being able to create my own 3D models and printing them out.
The future is always amazing. Age doesn’t make us care less about it, it just makes us more choosy in what parts are worth investing in. If you don’t want to become a listless old geezer, then don’t… all you need to do is keep enjoying the wonders of the world.
I’ve have long hair for about 35 years now. I guess mine is wavy too (?) although when it’s humid I’ll get some tight pipe curls. Just tie it back out of the way. Best hair bands I’ve found are made of pantyhose material, they don’t snag or wrap up in your hair. They do come in different sizes so if you have thick hair you can get a larger band.
Regardless, no matter what you do you’ll always eventually get some hair in your food.
Is the 1080p mode just hiding black bars present in the 1200p stream? Could be a stupid gimmick to get people to choose a particular uploader’s torrents.
I have no idea what you’re asking. Can you get a better data plan so you’re able to transmit more than a few letters each week?
Let me know when we have some real AI to evaluate rather than products labeled as a marketing ploy. Anyone remember when everything had to be called “3D” because it was cool? I missed my chance to get 3D stereo cables.
Only ten years old? Hell my desktop is around that age, doing just fine. I do need to get some more memory though, 16GB isn’t quite cutting it for the number of programs I’m running simultaneously these days (and having 2500 open tabs in firefox doesn’t help). That’s the beauty of linux though, it never forces you to upgrade or chokes out your system with unwanted ads and background processes.

Honestly if you were expecting a drive failure in three years, you probably have some other problem. The SSD in my desktop is clocking 7.3 years and I never shut down my machines except to reboot. On my servers, I have run used HDDs from ebay for up to ten years (only retired for upgrades). My NAS is currently running a mixture of used drives from Ebay and some refurbs from Amazon, and I don’t anticipate seeing any issues for at least a few more years.

The bird flu is starting to look like it could be a serious threat. Given that he already attempted an insurrection once, I wouldn’t put it past him to intentionally turn it into another pandemic, then generously decide that this time he’s going to take it seriously and lock everything down in 2028 (while simultaneously banning all states from using mail-in ballots).
I used to live further North and I miss the snow. We still get some here, but it typically melts off within a week or two.
I haven’t watched the video, but when I was younger I started developing an intolerance. I always eat a bowl of cereal in the morning, and at that time, about an hour later while I was driving in to work I started getting gut-wrenching cramps every day. Stopped eating the cereal and it immediately went away. That was all fine & dandy, but after several years of not eating breakfast at all I decided to hell with it and started working on it again on the weekends. However I’m guessing something else must have also changed because it didn’t really take that long to get back to eating it regularly again, and I haven’t stopped since.
The current belief is that it can affect the brains of growing children, but they’re not sure to what extent. In my state the legal age is 21, the same as for drinking. In adults, straight cannabis will not harm you in any way other than the usual effects of being under the influence and not always making rational choices. Worst case, you sleep it off. Do keep in mind that smoking it can slowly damage your lungs, the same as breathing any find particulates over a long period of time. I personally prefer edibles for long-term use, but the baking process does reduce the potency.
Now, like any drug, the reason you want to take it can be very important. If you need something to escape reality on a permanent basis, obviously you have a larger problem that no drug is ever going to solve. However the occasional evening can be quite entertaining, much like a trip to the water park. Other people (like myself) take it on a regular basis to help with medical problems, usually pain relief or sleep issues, where CBD is the answer rather than the THC component.
For myself, I’ve had sleeping problems for the past 16 years (since a bad car wreck). I worked with my doctor for awhile trying to find something that would help. The problem is, I’m a computer tech and I need my mind sharp for troubleshooting or writing code. All the prescription drugs leave your brain in a fog through much of the next day, and then what use am I? It turns out that marijuana has a fairly quick drop-off, so it can provide help through the night, and is pretty much out of my system by the time I head for work. As with anything, it takes some time to find the right dose. I take it along with other prescription medications to address different issues, but I’ve been getting good restful sleep for the past 9 years and feeling much more like myself again. For these purposes I highly recommend it, but talk to someone knowledgeable to guide you to the right strains and give advice on what to expect.
I’m curious, what part of that do you think will be good for anyone who isn’t a rich which male?
Coming next week – Hamster Ball Desks!
One can hope, but I suspect nobody will be announcing a victor on Tuesday night.
I’ve been reading some discussions this week about fake polls claiming Republicans are winning to make Dems think there’s no point in voting. Apparently it was a technique used in a previous recent election? It would explain all the results I’ve seen in the last few days showing them with a strong lead, where a week or two ago other polls showed an even race. Doesn’t really matter though, everyone should remember that the only thing that counts is getting out and casting your vote no matter what the polls might suggest.
I’ve got another ten years or so before I consider retiring, but I’m close enough that this kind of stuff has been on my mind lately. Retirement itself is easy – just don’t ever get sick, have any accidents, or reach the age where the insurance companies decide it’s cheaper to pay your family for a wrongful-death suit than to pay for your medical costs. The bastards will choose to murder you every time.
I’ve seen the opposite being true… A loved one dies after a lifetime together and the other person no longer has the will to keep going. I think you can keep going as long as you have the desire and your body doesn’t give out on you (and your insurance company doesn’t deny you a life-saving procedure because they think you’re too old and need to die).
Weird, I guess I had bad timing because I’ve been unable to reach this site for a bit, but it just came up again. Thanks for the info!
[Edit] The documents on that page ALSO do not actually provide information about the IP addresses carrying malicious content. Maybe they just don’t publish that information, despite how useful it would be to everyone?
