  • The absolute crap interfaces that are being developed for electronic devices. There’s no reason for them to be as bad as they are at this point. They were getting better and better going from say 1996 until about 2005. After that they just started dropping off fast. The last few years they’re just atrocious. And there is just no excuse. I know it annoys people when I say it, but as far as I’m concerned, the people who develop these interfaces, when they get up in the morning, they do lines of crack until their brains just about explode. Then they go to work and say this would be a cool idea even though the rest of the world looks at and goes. What the hell?

There’s no logic in the interface no common sense that you can use to use them.

And the target/hit boxes are becoming so small if you have any sort of muscular issue good luck on ever using it.

The developers, the executives the companies do not give a crap. Their attitude is if you don’t like it just buy something else. The problem : that’s the way it’s all being designed so you literally have nothing else to buy.

Then you have the consumers , their attitude is basically you have a choice. You don’t have to buy it. Which is a completely moronic statement.

My response is basically I’ve stopped buying things. Unless I absolutely have no other choice I just make do with what I have and the world go screw itself.

I watched my mom try to tap an icon on the screen seven separate times before it would actually activate. think about that , seven times just to activate whatever she was trying to touch. That’s stupid. So I literally knelt down right next to the table and watched herfinger very carefully, hit the screen and come up. The problem was her finger was moving by just a few pixels. So it was counted as a drag. Who the fuck thought that would be a idea? I mean, I could understand if you touch and drag, like a distance on the screen OK well that’s dragging. But that incredibly tiny amount? What jackass thought this was a good idea.? If your finger so much is twitches, it won’t count it as touch. It’ll count it as a drag and it won’t activate.

  • 20% for excellent service.

It goes down from there. Yes zero tip is acceptable if the service sucked. If I ordered medium rare steak and I get well done steak. I normally won’t deduct that from the tip since that is a hard one for the server to see. But if it’s something they could have seen and didn’t fix, yeah I’m probably reducing the tip.

The tip is for service above and beyond, not a required part of the bill.

  • Then it sounds like you work with assholes. If person a sits down with person b and says I’m sorry about what happened I want to do better. Please help me. Let’s talk about what I did wrong so I can improve myself. Only an asshole says no.

There is an obvious exception to that statement, if you are sitting there and yelling at them or being incredibly incredibly aggressive during the initial conversation. They might not be receptive right away. But if you come back, say the next day and apologize and say look, I wanna do better know I was in the wrong, but I need your help to improve. Can we talk so I can make sure I never do that again? A human being would say yes a good person will say yes let’s figure this out an asshole will say no.

It’s called compassion and sympathy. Sadly it’s also something that is sorely lacking in the United States and worldwide right now.

I guess here’s a question for you. Is this happening at multiple jobs or is it happening just at the current job?

  • I can’t speak for anyone else. But for me personally. I don’t mind if they have a female or male lead. What I care about is if the story and characters are believable. Many times it’s like they just said well here we are going to have a female lead just because. Yet when you look at the story and at the character it doesn’t make sense.

    Ex :

A strong female lead who is supposed to be commanding people and yet when she gives commands it just comes across as bitchy not assertive. And when you look at the story the character wouldn’t have the training to be able to know even what to do.

It’s like the director and writers just had to put a female on the screen.

The above example is just an example not meant to point at a specific movie or show.

A few of movies where they did it right.

The women in the movie Red. That was excellent writing and acting. The original Alien movie was awesome. Oh yeah and Mr and Mrs Smith kicked ass Angelina was awesome in that movie

To many current movies just feel like a board room full of people with an agenda of let’s make a movie with a female lead without asking if the scenario makes sense.

This is just my opinion as I can’t speak for others.

  • Think of what a bar of gold is worth. 1,000,000. That’s 25 pounds.

I don’t have that much money so for me the weight would be significantly less. That would be super easy to conceal and head some where safe. If the US fell the gold can be converted to any currency. Even if it took a year or two for another country to pick up and be a stable place to go, the gold would still be good.

So that makes gold a solid place to store the value. Go back hundreds of years people still wanted gold. Hundreds of years from now people will probably still want gold.

If it’s a serious crash but the US dollar comes back. Gold will still be a good solid place to store the value. If the US changes from dollar to something else, then gold still works.

The only question is timing the market, but to me still not a big deal since generally safe gold goes up in value.

1990 price was $383 an ounce in 2023 it was $1943 an ounce. I’d say do the math to those that doubt. And yeah timing is tough. But even if the US doesn’t fail gold goes up in price generally speaking
