I was learning what they are actually and I don’t see any point of using linux-libre.Nowdays Linux kernel loading firmware for device from packages called “linux-firmware” technically is binary files located in ur filesystem.Linux libre project just removing mechanism of loading firmware dynamically,does it make device free? No they just don’t work.Devices which work with linux-libre for example WiFi dongles contains already firmware on WiFi chip itself and not loading from ur computer.In fact u even loosing security patches from vendors which u can get as updates for all devices.Linux libre project even removing warning about that u are u are using vulnerable firmware.Blobs which now located in kernel code itself is header files with some amount of arrays number arrays.Also not all firmware files works in once,kernel loading only needed one for hardware installed in computer right now So in conclusion I would not use such kernel,problem not in kernel ,problem that vendors don’t share source code for devices.Project linux libre not okay with dynamically loading firmware from filesystem buy they are okay with firmware which installed on devices which work without dynamically loading.It’s weird and sounds hypocrisy
U actually just removed part of hyperland environment ,system is fine actually ,u just need to switch to tty or using live system and chroot to install again package u removed and that’s it gonna work again.
I am personally not exicted about using arm on pc/laptop all because situation with them can repwat situation with phones where we have locked down devices without ability to unlock bootloader and hug problems with drivers as sequence. Also there no uefi with ACPI so each distribution should be custom build to exact laptop because of operating system should know about installed hardware in laptop/pc in DTB file,i would prefer stay on x86 long as i can and maybe risc v cpus gonna change this situation.
Fuse driver of ntfs-3g yes it’s slow but if configurate to use ntfs3 it’s same fast as in windows
Btw videos not working well because of absense of hardware decoding codecs, and it is make software decoding.
I don’t know if Microsoft still using restrictions in their license agreement,that only one system can be installed for OEM when deliverying devices to shops.
I don’t know what this people talking about,u need just double click on deb file it will open grahical installer,if not check file assisation it shoulb be assigned to Eddy program.It’s pop os alternative to gdebi.
Agree about linux mint but need to be aware that he bought new laptop and kernel in version 21 quite outdated for modern hardware ,recommendly would be for him to wait for 22 version already i guess.
I think it can be good attempt to reimplement it and make it work stable and normal.My hesdphones sometimes randomly dropping connection and need to restart bluez to make them connect again.Also have to say about audio profiles for bluetooth headphones. While A2DP can deliver can good high quality sound but cannot work in duplex mode and can noy record ur headphones microphone and it would be nice if u share link for ur git :)
