Yeah. Those guys all work on Futurama.
Yeah. Those guys all work on Futurama.

The city I work in installed Flock cameras. City Council was clear they were only to be used to flag license plates for active felony warrants, silver alerts, and Amber alerts.
In less than 48 hours they were using them to give out tickets and track people who had turned in Open Records requests regarding the police department.
That’s true almost everywhere these days. Climate change and pesticides did a number on them.
I used to see hundreds floating around at night. Now I’m lucky to spot one a year.
Also, lovebugs. There were so many everywhere it was difficult to drive sometimes. I haven’t noticed any in years.
And then there was quantum.

You can’t just pick up an instrument and sound good. That’s not how they work.
If you want to just be able to make music in a pub without having to work at it, use a phone. Otherwise, you’ll need to put in a great deal of time and effort.
That being out of the way: guitar. It’s an instrument with loads of resources on how to play, doesn’t need to be accompanied by other instruments, and is very controllable when it comes to volume.
And you don’t have to be amazing to play something fun.
As a percentage, forklifts always way more incidents, and the incidents they can cause are BAD.
An F-150 isn’t gonna make a warehouse’s worth of product domino onto workers because someone leaned on the wrong lever.
Because the corporate Dems are scared when people actually show up to vote in the primary. That’s why we need to keep doing it to replace the Democratic leadership.
Why are you trying so hard to keep people from doing that? Are you an idiot, or are you a troll and actually want things to stay as they are?
You know what causes more harm than Democrats? People not voting for them because they’re not far enough to the left, and therefore moving the entire country to the right.
What teaches the Dems to move to the right is that those on the right actually get votes.
The regional term that pegs me to where I grew up is calling access roads “feeders.”
I think it would still techically be more hole since a larger total area would be hole.
I would be fewer holes, though.
3000 meters is pretty fucking deep.
Like - 6 times deeper than the deepest hardsuit dive in history.
There’s only a few ships in the world that can salvage at that depth, and they’re not fly-by-night pirate operations.
JJ Abrams aimed the camera.
I dread calls at work more than anything in life.
Just send a fucking email.

Well at least there’s not a fuckton of methane hydrates on the ocean floor that are now releasing a greenhouse gas 30 times more potent than CO2 refrom the ocean floor as the water gets warmer. And that isn’t a self-feeding loop that means it’s probably too late to save ourselves now.
Because that would be bad.
So the coconuts migrated, but the majority population of many of the islands were taken there as cargo?
Congress isn’t making a law. Instead, the President is committing treason while his party pretends not to notice and the other party flops around like a dead fish.
I teach an underwater photography class at a university. One night a few years ago, we were going to do a night dive and a thunderstorm rolled in. Scuba diving and lightning don’t mix, so we had to cancel the dive.
Students were all 21 or 22, and decided they wanted to go to a local pub for dinner, and asked me to join. I decided to go, and when we got to the pub the door guy was taking his job really seriously. He was examining their IDs super close, bending them and shining a flashlight through them, etc. It was taking a while because he was doing this for each of my students.
When I got to him and started handing over my ID, he just looked at me and said, “You’re good, man.”

Lots of things like grey hair, moving more slowly, injuries that I would have bounced away from before instead hurting for weeks or months.
But the one that hit hardest was a breakup I had a little while back. She was the love of my life and I fully intended to marry her, and when she ended it out of nowhere I was sad, but fine. She dumped me, and it sucked, but I also needed to finish a staff report for a Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that night. So I moved on.
The thing that upset me most was that I wasn’t that upset. There was a time in my life when I would have been a mess. But as I’ve aged, my emotions have become more regulated.
I miss being capable of that level of joy and pain.
Monkeys paw curls:
Everyone now needs at least 2 jobs. Groceries are nominally cheaper through massive shrinkflation.
Reminds me of this:
