    Yep, I voted D like I always did…

But I spent a lot of time ringing any alarm bell I could find that all of Joe and Kamal’s moves to the right was gonna cost us the election, and that the victory fund would lose the House and Senate.

I was right on all counts, but the people I was trying to explain it won’t admit that reality proved them wrong.

There’s no criticism for what the party did wrong, only anger at anyone with higher standards than the letter by the name.

Neoliberals want nothing as much as they want blindly loyal Dem voters, it’s the only way most people ever hold their noses and vote for one. But rather than have a candidate dem voters want, they’d rather risk trump.

When they shut on voters like in that meme, they’re telling us they have zero problem watching the country burn. They’d rather have trump than a Dem who agrees with Dem voters.

  • Nah, bad data is valuable to science because you learned what you did had a confounding variable.

Maybe not exactly what it was, but investigating and identifying it is literally the scientific method.

Even early psych experiments like Standford Prison, completely useless data, but why it was useless lead to modern rules about experiments to control for all the ways Zimbardo fucked up.

But when talking about funding and/or employment…

A good scientist can defend their position with any data. The complete absence of any data would be when you’re fucked.

It’s not even just in science, metrics are a thing almost everywhere, and that’s just statistical analysis done by people who never heard those two words put together. It’s trivial to exploit the metrics to make things look better, but what’s better is to explain why the problem is the metrics.

If you’re less than ethical you could do that even if you’ve not been doing your job.

Yeah, that’s what’s going to get you.

Maybe if you loaned/rented them, but not many would go thru that hassle.

And you’d need your own locked down ecosystem they can’t crack.

On top of all that, I’m pretty sure even libraries got sued over doing this.

I remeber someone once tried to stream physical blu rays online to people for a small fee. And that didn’t work out legally either.

  • We’ve known for years that Netanyahu allowed suitcases full of money across the border into Gaza that could only be going to Hamas.

But him going out and soliciting funding for Hamas…

That’s a whole nother thing. I know Netanyhu was already likely on the way out before, but I can’t see how the Israelis let him stay in control after this.

He’s literally the reason all this is happening because the only way his group maintains power is if voters are scared. So he created a reason for them to be scared.

  • A short trimmed beard you have to do the neck and maybe cheekbones, it’s a lot of upkeep.

I think lots of guys had that type of beard pre-covid, then let it grow out. Once it’s long enough you don’t have to do the neck because it’s hidden by the rest of your beard.

And some guys never have to do cheeks because it grows in good.

Like how 20 years ago it was cool for teenagers and 20 somethings to have goatees. It took me a while to realize most were doing it because they couldn’t grow a full beard.

There’s a lot of variation in facial hair, including where it grows and how thick.

  • Obviously not, but considering you’re having difficulty understanding basic rules that exist on every form of social media, there was probably a good reason for the first one.

Lemmy is the easiest to get away with it, but you keep making similar versions of the same username and immediately talking about how you’re evading bans.

Like, it’s hard to believe you’re really not able to understand this, which would leave trolling as the only explanation for your behavior
