Dark Messiah: First person action RPG where you kick Orcs into spikes a lot. Add some more gimmicks, more verticality and enemy variety, basically done.

C&C Generals: Sequel was planned but canceled. The original still has a following, AoE2 had multiple profitable remasters. The genre might be more niche but it isn’t dead.

Bulletstorm: Stupid fun FPS with a ridiculous story, not quite a “boomer shooter” but a sequel could definitely profit from that current trend.

Also Slay the Spire and Cyberpunk 2077, but those are actually happening.

Yeah, and the problem is that the history of the conflict didn’t even start with the current state of Israel being established. There really is no simple good/bad narrative to be had. It’s just a shitty situation for anyone who happens to live there.

Maybe try looking at it from the point of view of the individual people living there (and having been born there for generations) instead of whatever strategic/historical layer you’re on. The state of Israel exists and won’t be going away, that’s a fact. You can hate the injustice if you want but it would still be better if they’d finally make peace and just live in the present instead of murdering each other over the past. But neither leadership is willing to do that.

The people who won’t accept a two state solution are the bad guys, so much is clear.

The reason I replied is because of the “submissions” part. They aren’t doing that, everyone can still submit code that might get accepted. What they did was remove some of the people in charge of deciding what gets accepted from the team.

They removed maintainers that work for Russian corporations, they are not blocking submissions from any Russian citizen.

I had a Jolla smart phone, it was pretty great but it also quickly became apparent that the company had no real intention to make Sailfish the Android-compatible, open and privacy-friendly OS I was hoping it’d be. Selling licenses to customers to put the OS on third party hardware really killed it for me.

Kinda surprised they are still around, but I guess knowing the right magical words to whisper to investors is a good enough business strategy. They’ve done it with blockchain, now it’s AI.

Algebraic notation breaks just about every rule programmers are taught about keeping their code human readable. For example:

• Variable and function names should be descriptive
• Don’t cram everything into one line
• Break up large statements
• Consistency is key
• Don’t be fancy for fancy’s sake, don’t over-optimize (this is for learning, remember?)
• Add in-line comments for lines that aren’t easily grasped
• Be explicit where possible (it’s a convention to omit the multiplication operator when multiplying variables because variables are only one letter anyway…)

And then we force kids to cram the whole stdlib (or rather its local bastardization) into their heads or at best give them intentionally bad (uncommented) documentation during exams while wondering why so many just don’t seem to get it, even resent it.
