Seems to be rndis for me.
Seems to be rndis for me.
Yep, that seems to be it. lxpolkit worked for me.
Hey, thanks!
A copy of my mind in a computer.
Yeah, things get weird and finicky when one instance defederates from another.
Feel free to create accounts in other instances that meet your needs, and please include proper punctuation in their application forms xD
Edit: Sorry for mocking your English, you probably aren’t a native English speaker. Neither am I :P, my English used to be horrendous. It’s still a bit shabby, but gets the job done when I need to convey my thoughts. Try your best to improve!
Edit edit: You could have simply typed in a hurry, I probably embarrassed myself 🤣
No, you will not get all Lemmy content even if lemmynsfw.com doesn’t block lemmy.ml.
You can normally browse lemmy.world instances though, not sure how well you can interact with their users or post.
Edit tip: If you’re new, make 2-3 accounts in instances that match your different interests. If you use a lemmy client app on your phone, you can switch accounts between different instances easily.
Yeah, lemmy.ml blocks most porn/nsfw/r34 instances. I personally like it that way.
I mainly sort posts by “all” and simply blocking NSFW tags hides some posts that aren’t full-blown porn but just involve mature topics. So it’s better than using an instance that doesn’t defederate and turning off NSFW posts, at least for me.
mander.xyz is pretty open to most instances afaik, check it out if interested.
I had both installed and was using them side-by-side. links2 was easier to learn and configure so I chose it over w3m, then uninstalled w3m.
Also edit: terminal browsers(at least links2) are surprisingly good if you just want read Wikipedia, browse memes, use search engines, and other static stuff once you get the hang of it.
It’s the original, slow HDD. And yeah, loading GUI programs is a pain but I don’t notice any unresponsiveness in tty, which is how I use it for 90% of its uptime.
Hey, IceWM is awesome! I’d use it but I prefer not to have an extra mouse cluttering up my desk :)
Poor choice of word eh? 😅
No, I prefer i3
Tysm, @MyNameIsRichard@lemmy.ml and @nanook@friendica.eskimo.com.
[Resolve]
DNS=1.1.1.1 8.8.8.8
FallbackDNS=8.8.4.4
I added this to the file /etc/resolv.conf and it’s working again.
What can I do to fix the problem here?
Firefox’s default in-built download manager is hot garbage. It is so much more reliable to download multiple large files at once with a resource-friendly download manager.
I did perform the self-test function, the long version that says it will take 10s of minutes. Some of the errors were displayed with red text before the test. After the self test, it said that my drive passed and all the red errors showed up as “Old age” in black text, every single one.
(This is in the GUI app for smartctl)
It’d be bad if I were working on something and the entire thing just suddenly broke down before I have the time to save and backup 😅
I used the GUI program for SMART and the list of issues got marked as “old age”, all of them.
It’s the same error, no matter how many times I reinstall. I assume it’s a hardware issue

One thing I notice is the new upgrade trying to use ModemManager rather than NetworkManager. The device is also defined as “Mobile Broadband”, instead of “Ethernet”.
Loading the kernel module with modprobe, as another commenter suggested, didn’t make any change.
Another thing: An excerpt from the kernel changelog at https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v6.x/
I am so lost xD
