I have miniflux setup for RSS feeds, and I’ll doom scroll lemmy. For games I emulate old pokemon games. You can also just get lost in your thoughts for a bit too. It can really be good for your brain to just sit with your thoughts for a while.

Depends on budget but if your budget is above $800 get a framework they are awesome and work great with Linux if your budget is below that look at an e series Thinkpad or used thinkpad on eBay that fits your budget
I would have thought eating and breathing from the same hole would have been in this release 😞 guess I’ll just have to wait till 3.0
I have loved my AMD framework . 3:2 aspect ratio took awhile to get used to but I love it now. Only thing I need to figure out getting the USB c ports to work but everything else has worked flawlessly
Tailscale is the best with netbird in a close second if you want to self host, headscale works great.
Both grandpas are dead but all 4 are amazing and I wish I saw my grandma’s more. I never learned a ton about their past first hand besides my dad’s dad who told me about Korea. I mostly talk about what’s going on not the past. Sometimes it feels like seeing a teacher or coach outside of school when we talk about the past because you saw them as grandparents and not normal people.
I don’t think so. You need to get a large amount of training before you can make a comparable salary, and if you do get a high paying cyber security job there’s still a good chance of it being stressful. You can see if you like it using the free tier of try hack me, and if you love it and can afford to take the paycut it might make sense but you are probably better off finding a way to use your existing skills than aquiring new ones
Native English speaker. I learned some French in school and enough Japanese to get through a judo match. I struggle to retain other languages. Everywhere I go everyone speaks English and it’s hard to justify learning a new one even everyone in a 1000 mile radius speaks English.

Make sure your romantic life isn’t the only thing you are focused on. make sure you are doing things that you enjoy and spending time with people you care about. If you have a good social network any 1 part can have problems and they will suck but it’s not losing everything which makes it suck way less.
Shameless plug for my project shiftmon that’s hosted on gitlab it uses ansible to glue together Telegraf, Victoriametrics, Grafana, and Loki
Seafile or nextcloud are my choices. I like seafile because it has an official and documented way to install it but nextcloud works well too just installing it can be tricky. One thing I like about sea file is they have a remote filesystem app that supports Linux and works better than nextcloud and webdav
Debian testing or nixos
Sometimes it’s easier to start over than unbreak an existing project. Gnome is old and big so it’s harder to change. So starting over where you don’t have to keep existing features or care about existing users is way easier than fixing gnome and rewriting it in rust. Plus system 76 can. There’s no single party that can stop them from making a desktop
Most operating systems mostly work find something that has a release cadence you like and is close to what you want then you will have to customize it to fit your needs
Tips Fedora 39
Not saying I’m a fan but you I think you are looking for a CLA or contributor license agreement
The closest thing to foss LinkedIn would be the repos, forums, and chats for open source projects. Some of them have other dedicated channels for jobs other times it’s you know this person and they see you are looking for work and they tell their friends. There is not a drop in replacement for LinkedIn that is open source. The biggest value of LinkedIn is a network effect so even if it did exist not using LinkedIn would make finding a new job harder since you couldn’t find opportunities that are only posted on LinkedIn.
Side note LinkedIn is gross they serve ads in your dms and notifications
