I went with a Synology NAS (I know, the foss crowd will probably crucify me) which really keeps the setup effort to a minimum. You put in the HDDs, setup your pool/volume, install Plex (or jellyfin), upload your media and you’re basically good to go.

I do have a copy of wikipedia and I should be good on entertainment media. I guess I should expand the emergency porn stash.

Well, you can’t. But you can transfere all your settings/subscribes/blocks etc.

Go to your account settings and hit “export” and save the file.

Make a new account on another instance

Go to that account’s settings and import the file from your old account.

I’m quite outside of my expertise here, but I think it might be a mealworm. A beetle larvae. That would technically make it not a maggot (which are fly larvae).
