Hi there, I have been using Firefox since a long time with these extensions. Do you think if any of those are redundant? Why I ask this is that while using Outlook in Firefox, it’s consuming around 1.7 GB of RAM. I don’t think it should be using this much amount of RAM for just a single tab of Outlook. Edit: I already use uBlock Origin, but it’s not present in the attached pic.

Try running an incognito window only, which should run without extensions (unless you manually enable each for private browsing). Check your usage then to see if the extensions are actually the problem.

Honestly 1.7gb of RAM for a modern browser is not that unexpected. Outlook is not a low-cost web service, first of all, but also the first tab is by far the most costly – most of the RAM is for the browser itself. Even with ten or twenty tabs I wouldn’t expect your RAM usage to balloon much, and if they’re “background” tabs, i.e. tabs you’ve kept open from previous sessions but haven’t actually looked at yet, they basically take no resources – actually one of the areas that Firefox does a lot better than Chrome.

Just wondering if you have gone to the uBlock Origin settings and looked at the filter lists. There’s a section for ‘annoyances’ with some lists that are not turned on by default, which might eliminate the need for some of those extensions.

    Here’s my extensions: https://i.imgur.com/kJNSID9.png

I don’t use amazon and rarely see paywall’s, plus i have a bookmark for the latter. The cookie and captcha stuff is mostly eliminated with the uBlock annoyances lists turned on. It fixes other youtube stuff too I think (I might be wrong) but I also limit my youtube usage heavily, if the channel has >100,000 subscribers or the video has >1 million views, I close the tab immediately, otherwise I end up in rabbit holes that are hard to escape.

I can’t help with the extensions, but I will say Outlook is the hungriest tab on my machine. 850MB on startup with no extensions. So only about half of what you’re seeing, but still way more than anything else I open.

Firefox has a built-in translation feature now, so you might not need TWP.

You could try disabling some extensions to see if there’s a troublemaker. Alternatively, run Firefox in safe mode to see if it’s your settings/extensions or the site itself

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try out your first suggestion. Btw, I use uBlock Origin, but it isn’t visible in the list. Will edit in the post.
