City Connection has announced R-TYPE DX: Music Encore for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch this winter.

I think this is a neat idea because it offers the “Ultimate Challenge” whereas Dimensions EX does not.

BUT…

Will the price point be lower than Dimensions EX? What would R-Type fans want the most, 3D graphics or a different soundtrack? Will this be one of the good City Connection ports or one of the half-assed ones that people complain about?

    R-Type DX was the first R-Type game I ever played! I really hope they do it justice.
