Online I found this egg for 23 euros. I then visited several sex shops asking for vibrating eggs like that one. On the first one they showed me this one for 130 euros. They insisted is waterproof according to IPX7 and that cheaper models are won’t bring me to orgasm.
Is the second model 6 times better than the first one? I never expected a sex toy to be this expensive.
At another sex shop they offered this which can be bought directly from the manufacturer for 50 euros, but in this sex shop was valued at 90 euros, which is an insane markup.
They also had this one for 130 euros in store.
I don’t know if I should only buy ‘brand’ vibrators or simply trust amazon reviews and buy the cheapest one for 23 euros. Other reviews about the most expensive models over 100 euros indicate some customers are unhappy with the product, considering the price. Neither do I know what brands are reputable ones, if any, because I cannot give back a thing like this if I don’t like it.
Every listed toy is made in China so I don’t get the radical markups.
If you use egg vibrators, are there any brands I should look for?
For vaginal and anal use.
A reliable source told me a great way to test the vibrations is on the tip of your nose. But I’m not a girl so can’t confirm.
While I can’t vouch for the in person details, sex toys were a hyperfixation for me because I was going to open a sex shop myself. My findings were that around 86% of full silicon egg vibrators use comparable motors. So when the shop owner said it won’t bring you to orgasm, that’s scam language. They were looking for the upsell.
Now, like someone else said, good reciever is the make or break here, a lot of the remote only models we tested just had a single wire loop for an antenna, which is not reliable and prone to breaking in use. If you’re planning for anything other than personal use in a bedroom setting, look for Bluetooth compatibility.
Lastly, some other things to consider are charging style and battery life. Battery life is an obvious, if you take longer you’re going to be pretty peeved if it dies. As for chargers, I found that bare contacts will corode over time and models with rubber caps that cover a USB mini are worthless. Possibly the best option I’ve seen across the board was using 1.5mm mono audio jack that pushed through a raised silicone nipple. The seal was reliable at 2.5m water depth (deepest pool we could find locally), the cord itself was durable and easily sourced if you needed a new one, and the interface was waterproof enough that my test subject could charge it during use.
All of this is to say, price isn’t really a good tell. You’re better off looking for something that’s well reviewed and fits your needs.
all of the eggs I linked have a tail. Do you know how flexible is this part? Can it be bent 180 degrees?
The vast majority I worked with could be flexed a full 180 but had a preference to a specific angle based on either how they were packaged or moulded. We did have a few with cheaper antennas break internally with repeated flexing and tugging, those were all remote only.
In practice we found that that tails moulded into a tight C shape made them easier to wear under clothes as straighter J shaped designs would make an obvious bulge in tight clothes and shift around more freely during movement.
hi, I’ve got more questions:
Some of the brands I checked sell g-spot vibrators and p-spot vibrators as well. Is the silicone used in anal toys different than the one used for vaginal toys? I was thinking about what others said about disinfecting anal toys thoroughly.
What do you think about this toy? Because it’s long and flexible I can insert it as deep as I want but it’s not rigid so it may not press against my g spot like the c shaped egg vibrators we mentioned. This particular model has a 1.5mm mono audio jack but no raised silicone nipple to charge.
So the other commenter has all the good deets on the silicone. They don’t advertise the raised charger nipple thing, it’s just a trait of the 1.5mm jack construction.
As for design, these classic style corded eggs are pretty fantastic, especially for under clothes use. One of the consistent features we found was that they’re notably gerthier than you expect from the image, this makes for consistent pressure but can be uncomfortable if you’re not used to the size.
Another worthwhile note is g spot vibrators. For those not in the know who may be reading, the g spot is a spongey nerve cluster near the inside of the pelvic bone along the roof of the vagina. While it differs between individuals, the majority of women report lackluster results from g spot vibrations with best results from repeated pulsing squishes. If you know for sure that you’re into g spot vibration, go for it, but if you don’t know then don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t feel like it’s working. On that note, the girth of the corded eggs can play to the benefit as shiftin the hips and engaging the pelvic floor can stimulate the g spot. My understanding is it takes some practice, but isn’t difficult.
more questions about the corded, double egg vibrator and c-shaped vibrators like this one
I’ve only seen online pictures, but it seems the c shaped toys are completely enclosed in a silicone coating, with no fissures whereas the corded one has visible lines where the different parts assembly as in the picture attached, next to the bullets.

Isn’t that dangerous and unhygienic? The c-shaped toy seems a more hygienic alternative.
Intended use is vaginal and anal. This toy doesn’t have a base but it’s long, so I can simply pull the cord, or will it break?
In the lot we tested, most of those seams were just junctions in the mould used to coat them and didn’t actually have any depth. They may take a little extra attention while scrubbing but they weren’t deep enough to be a hazard. Also most had some form of sturdy cordage inside the silicone cord to reinforce the wires in the case of pulling.
In one particular case, my ~55kg tester hung one of the sturdier models from a pull up bar and picked herself up with it. There were also a lot if nunchuck stunts lol. While most won’t hold up to that level of stress, they’re more than adequate for the grip strength of human orifices. A caveat to that, if you’re worried about size or ease of retrieval anally you can start with guaging plugs. Similar to normal butt plugs they come in sets of 3-12 and have progressively wider diameters. This aclimated the body to a wider stretch.
For those with worries about anal incontinence from guaging, understand that the human anal muscles engage in both directions. So long as you’re giving your body time to aclimate to the new size, you will actually gain muscle control and strength from this process. When pared with regular kegal exercises it can make a huge difference, especially for people advancing in age.

and it didn’t break I’m assuming (surprising if true). Did it work afterwards?
if this corded model is completely coated in silicone with only superficial seams and is waterproof, my next question is about batteries:
I own an older vibrator powered by 4 AAA retrievable batteries, which is very convenient, because if the batteries stop charging after 3 years of use, all I need to do is change the batteries for the device to work again.
This corded vibrator seems to have a built in battery I cannot change when it dies (and it will die, like any other battery, even li-ion ones).
If I cannot easily change the battery inside this toy, suddenly it doesn’t seem a good choice, but this would also apply to the c-shaped models we mentioned earlier and most vibrators made nowadays.
Buying a toy I’ll have to replace after 3 years is a losing proposition.
Your take?
Is the silicone used in anal toys different than the one used for vaginal toys?
I can answer this question specifically, no idea about egg vibrators in general. If it is actual silicone (and be careful, a lot of cheap Amazon sex toys are not actual silicone), then it’s non-porous and body-safe. In terms of pathogenic safety, any silicone toy can be used both vaginally and anally, and shouldn’t grow bacteria/mould/etc inside it. Toys made specifically for anal will be made of harder silicone to make sure it can penetrate, and you probably know this but should have a flared base for anal. But some toys designed for vaginas also satisfy those qualities.
Actual silicone can be safely boiled. I boil my dildos to disinfect them (after washing with soap and water first). I use gentle pH-neutral soap so as to not damage the toys.
My opinion, opposite from others, is start with a cheap one and see if you even like the concept. Maybe you don’t even like bullet vibes. You can learn that for 20 euros or 200. I think, better to buy a cheap one first and upgrade once you know you like it.
Do you actually want something that works through your phone? That’s a lot of hassle and if you are using it on yourself. Your phone will get all gooey. It’ll be difficult to hold the phone and the vibe at the same time. If you aren’t already looking at your phone, going into it will be distracting. If you are looking at your phone as part of the experience, you’ll have to switch out of whatever you are doing. It is a lot easier to use a more classic one with a tactile control (dial or buttons). Wired style means vibe part itself is lighter, while you can have more battery in the controller box.
cheap, old fashioned bullet vibes

You can get them in silicone if you prefer.
If you specifically want a wireless one, then you should expect to pay some for all the extra electronic components and complexity compared to the above. Assuming you want it to work reliably.
Ideally you will go somewhere that has the demo items displayed so you can turn them on and handle them. You will get an idea of what they can do for you. Did you go to some little “boutique” “top drawer” place? Try to find somewhere with a wider selection. Even a small sex store should have several devices of this type to compare.

The markup is a lot, what is pays for is the rent, bills and payroll of running a brick and mortar location that is available so you can go and handle a bunch of toys before you buy them. It is a lot of overhead. So it’s good to buy stuff from those places when you can to keep them open for when you need them. At least a bottle of lube.
The Lovense one is good if you want extras like ability to remote control the egg over the internet, sync it to music or games, do camming etc.
If you just want a vibrating egg then you don’t need the fancy ones.
If you want to control it with your phone, then be on the lookout for a good antenna. I originally bought the Lush 1 and it literally lost connection once clothes were put on. It seems to be better with newer models.
First immersion circulators, now ultrasonic vibrators? What the Hell are you people doing to these eggs?! Modernist cuisine has gone too far!
Tap for spoiler
Sorry 'bout the off-topic joke; I couldn’t resist. Good luck with your 'batin.
Reminds me of the salad mixxer on Adult Swim
I’m also in the market for an egg vibrator, apparently it makes for a really good breakfast if you scramble them before cracking into the pan.
