THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF THE COMMUNES (UNACOM) FACING IMPERIALIST AGGRESSION
The National University of the Communes, exercising its patriotic commitment, expresses its most energetic rejection of the criminal aggression against our sovereignty on January 3, 2026.
I. We condemn the attack and demand the freedom of President Nicolás Maduro and the First Lady, Cilia Flores. We repudiate the brutal bombing executed by the government of the United States in the early morning of January 3, 2026. This deployment of technological and military violence against Caracas, Miranda, and La Guaira represents a flagrant violation of human rights and international law. We demand the immediate liberation and safe return of our Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores. We will not accept the kidnapping of our democratic will by foreign powers.
II. We declare ourselves in defense of sovereignty and Bolivarian Socialism. From our learning communities and socio-productive projects, we ratify our unbreakable loyalty to the Constitution and the strengthening of Bolivarian Socialism. The university community of UNACOM remains on permanent alert and active mobilization. We denounce to the world the confessed intention of the government of Donald Trump to recolonize the hemisphere under a doctrine of force, openly threatening the peace of sister nations such as Colombia, Cuba, and Mexico. The discourse of interventionism has been laid bare: its only agenda is absolute control and colonial barbarism.
III. We call for Solidarity and National Unity. We deeply stand in solidarity with the families of the fallen civilians and military personnel, and with all those affected by this atrocious attack, who suffered human and material losses. Latin America must be, by right and conviction, a territory of peace. We make an urgent call for solidarity from the free peoples of the world. It is imperative to close ranks against colonialism: today it is Venezuela, but tomorrow it could be any nation that dares to be sovereign.
IV. We call for mobilization and production. We declare ourselves in general mobilization. Our response to the aggression is the Civic-Military-Police Union. We take to the streets not only to defend the territory, but to fulfill our fundamental task: producing food, science, and dignity. We support the call to resistance from President-in-Charge Delcy Rodríguez, following the legacy of our Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Frías. Venezuela will not be anyone’s colony; Venezuela is and will be an independent socialist power.
