Does anybody else feel like Max Blumenthal is really leaning heavily on the “Israel led the USA into it!” narrative?

The american left is convinced of it. Hasan also says it often. It doesn’t help that Narco Rubio literally said so too.

It’s not just media figures saying this, it’s literally members of the US government crediting Israel for starting the war. I think Israel’s days as a useful US outpost are coming to an end and there’s a propaganda campaign to sell the idea to the US public.

It’s basically the only way the US can back out of this war without losing too much face or spilling too much of its own blood.

It seems like there’s some evidence building to suggest this is the case though, no? I think he is far from someone who would argue that the US wouldn’t go to war without being manipulated, but in this case there’s ample reason to believe Trump is under Israel’s thumb

A showdown with Iran was planned by the West long before Trump became President. The cogs were in place. He pressed the button that was put there by the ones before him. Anything Israel does has surely been given the OK by the USA and, I daresay, masterminded by the West anyway. It is the USA’s attack dog in the Middle East and if it’s killed in action, the USA will merely create another one. They admitted as much.

Liberals said the same type of shit about Trump being under Putin’s thumb. I don’t know what it is about people being unable to face up to the fact that the US knowingly and consciously orchestrates this kind of stuff and doesn’t need urging from outside to do it. Trump is also clearly a person who acts more on impulse than long-term planning, so it makes sense that he’d jump into a war the US is not fully ready for, but which its mainstream institutions are nevertheless ready to rally behind because they’ve been salivating about Iran for decades.

What the US admin so far attempted to do fits with how they approached Venezuela: attempt a smash of leadership that gains some kind of capitulation and which can be paraded around as a victory for empire (and for Trump specifically). Now instead they have a war on their hands with a people who had time and tech to prepare.

Trump’s mob boss style “intimidation” tactic fell on its face when he tried to tariff China and now it appears (so far) to be falling on its face when attempting to intimidate Iran militarily. He’s an old dog with one trick and he doesn’t appear to learn very well from when it doesn’t work. Probably because it got him so far in life up to this point, so why should he.
