That’s the excuse but in the end they got a Muslim on screen blowing himself up and that’s what sticks in people’s heads. You go to his wiki page and it says “Islamic terrorist”.
I’m not sure how the author’s message can be more face up. In the end media literacy is a responsibility of the audience to some degree, and criticizing satire for that which it portrays, or in this case criticizing messaging for that which it mocks is a failure to understand the message.
I am (due to circumstances of my birth) an American, and yet I understood the messages that The Boys were making. I disagree that art should be brought down to the lowest common denominator. Instead, discussions like this bring everyone up instead
Maybe you should start researching where all of the anti-Muslim propaganda originated from and find out that it wasn’t caused by the American military industrial complex, but actually by, you guessed it, Israel.
And by none other than our great friend B. Mileikowski.
I won’t because I’m not going to get my knickers in a twist over stuff that fundamentally doesn’t matter. It’s a caricature on a show known for over the top caricatures. Beyond that I think the whole show is overhyped and I didn’t bother to finish it.
Go volunteer or take a walk or find a hobby. It’s not healthy to be so hyper obsessed that you’re signal boosting rage content that nobody here would have heard/thought about otherwise.

I’d be inclined to agree if the directors made any fun of Israel as well but their stereotypes seem to be limited to Christians and Muslims.
The notable absence of Israel in The Boys which is supposed to be a comedic parody of modern America is telling by itself.
Thinking this is anti-Muslim is the same level of critical analysis as thinking Homelander is the good guy.
Maybe you should be lecturing those people about artistic literacy instead of crying to us about the art
