It is quite strange; Iran has never initiated attacks and also never not warned before attacking. I wonder if we’re missing something here.
Israel and the US assassinated a bunch of the old guard, maybe this is a product of having a new Ayatollah with a lot of new leadership who don’t see as much value in strategic patience against an invading empire.
