As an institution the guardian is Cool with fascism provided the fascists in charge are Democrats/labour. Watch these kinds of stories return to brunch when the pendulum swings back.
It is a tale as old as liberalism, honestly: Communists that gain a lot of power threaten liberalism, so they must use the fascists to fight them (hell, they do not even have to be communist if they are a big enough threat if the whitewashing of Ukrainian fascists is anything to go by).
