Lebanese Member of Parliament Hussein al-Hajj Hassan, head of the Baalbek-Hermel parliamentary bloc, has called for an immediate halt to direct negotiations with Israel and a comprehensive course correction.

He argued that the current diplomatic path has yielded nothing more than unilateral concessions, coming at a time when Israel continues its military aggression, marked by the destruction of homes and the bulldozing of land in occupied territories.

Speaking on current events, Hassan asserted that ongoing attacks illustrate the relentless nature of the occupation, highlighting the urgent need to reassess existing strategies to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty and legal rights.

The Lebanese lawmaker also addressed the alliance between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, describing the partnership as steadfast, rooted in mutual cooperation and integration, and emphasizing a unified stance in confronting domestic and regional challenges.

Concluding his remarks, Hassan noted that the resilience of the Lebanese people and their unwavering defense of their rights remain fundamental to resisting aggression. He urged state officials to adopt policies that protect national interests and prevent any further concessions.
