    Georgia has formally declined to adopt the latest wave of restrictive measures imposed by the European Union against Iran.

    According to reports from the Georgian news agency Interpressnews, Tbilisi asserted that its foreign policy decisions and participation in international political initiatives are governed exclusively by domestic priorities rather than bloc alignment.

    Tengiz Sharmanashvili, a leading member of parliament from the ruling Georgian Dream party, emphasized that the government evaluates every international resolution through a single criterion of whether it directly serves Georgian state interests at any given moment.

    Sharmanashvili bluntly noted that if an external policy measure runs counter to those national objectives, authorities remain entirely indifferent to whose broader geopolitical agenda the measure otherwise supports.
