⭕️ Oil prices rose on Wednesday after two vessels came under attack in the Strait of Hormuz, while Reuters claimed that Iranian officials said Tehran was adopting new tactics to target shipping. According to the officials, Iran is seeking to keep oil prices elevated and influence the upcoming US midterm elections.
Brent crude futures climbed 34 cents, or 0.3%, to $106.03 a barrel by 06:30 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 28 cents, or 0.3%, to $94.42. Both benchmarks had gained more than $1 earlier in the session.

UPDATE | Brent crude futures fell by 20 cents to $105.83 a barrel by 09:38 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose 29 cents to $94.71. Both benchmarks had advanced by more than $1 earlier in the session, with WTI reaching a more than two-week high of $95.41 a barrel.
