The irony is that the red scare propaganada of Pax Americana demands authoriterian government intervention to kill anyone who threatens free riding plutocracy. They have the pretense that the scary red mastermind boogymen are so hard working and innovative that the invisible hand is appointing Soviets in key positions of Pax Americana. They even complain that they need to oppose democracy that they are supposed to support from their pretense that people in democracy are electing scary red people into government.
Numerous academics have stated that capitalism killed bare minimum 1.4 Billion people in India alone, over multiple centuries.
I’ve got a feeling that even that amount, is an extremely low bare minimum estimate.
I always say, that even if communism allegedly killed 100 million people, (which it didn’t, and the extreme upper end number is is more like 18 million), that communism is still the much, much more efficient, workable and “moral” system than capitalism is.
When I point out to people that for the most part, the “victims” of communism were selfish, greedy capitalists, kulaks, Uncle Toms, traitors, nazis and right-wing nationalists, who deserved what they got, where as capitalism kills mountains more people, and 99 percent innocent people, they accuse me of being a bootlicker. Which is extremely ironic and anger-inducing. Yet, they don’t deny the objective facts.
“Capitalism works!” - They say, ignoring the environmental destruction, the starvation wages, the rampant homelessness, and the millions of people murdered in the name of ever-increasing profits.
Or the numerous death camps in the British diaspora that are disguised as Residential schools to “assimilate” the local Indigenous population and that may continue in secret…

It’s missing the Vietnam war the Korean war, cointelpro(in the USA) operation gladio in Italy (was not a massive death toll but prevented communists to be elected in Italy). And in Brazil there was another one under president Vargas that instituted the task force of communist hunting, that preceeds operation condor as well
Dont forget the mc-carthy purges
Yeah it’s not exhaustive by any means. Also, arguably the economic system itself kills even more people than imperialist wars by denying stuff like healthcare, food, and so on.
Good mention of Vargas dictatorship. People don’t discuss Vargas dictatorship as much as the 1964 dictatorship (part of operation condor), but both were very brutal against communists.
was not a massive death toll but prevented communists to be elected in Italy
if we used the rules of the “victims of communism” count we could include everyone who has died on the streets, through lack of healthcare, etc. as a direct result of not allowing the country to go red
that would be far more reasonable than the VoC standards, because those deaths actually were caused by capitalism
The tittle is very misleading though as that’s “only” the “anti-Communist” part of the death toll of capitalism, which might not even get to 0.1% of everything even with the most conservative of estimates.
